David Horner

Lt. Colonel David H. Horner, U.S. Army, Ret, age 62, a native of Atlanta and a resident of Gautier, passed away September 5, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Margaret Horner.
David is survived by his wife of 36 years, Emine Horner; and his son, Skyler Horner.
He received his Doctorate in Industrial Engineering at a young age. He served and retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service (1978 - 1998) where he was an Engineer Officer and achieved the rank of Lt. Colonel. He the worked and retired from civil service at the Waterways Experiment Station in Vicksburg, MS, then worked at Northrup Grumman, PAE, and CSC.  David helped rebuild Keesler AFB after Katrina and loved his work and friends.
David enjoyed building old cars and built a 1965 Shelby Cobra piece by piece by hand in four years.  He was an avid gun collector and history buff.  His hero was John Wayne.  He was a member of the Society of Civil Engineers.
The family would like to thank all friends and relatives who called, gave encouragement, and prayers.  A special thank you to dear friends, Don Ruth and Ron Junkin for their care and support until the end.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at 3:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd., Biloxi, with a visitation from 1:30 PM until the service.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home chapel.  A procession will leave at 2:00 PM for a graveside service with military honors at 2:30 PM at Biloxi National Cemetery.
