David Earl Hawley, born on May 6, 1938, in Oklahoma, fell asleep in death on Thursday, January 23, 2025, in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, at the age of 86. David was a skilled and dedicated Structural Engineer known for his exceptional attention to detail and commitment to excellence. He earned an Associate's Degree in Engineering, which allowed him to make meaningful contributions throughout his career.
Besides his professional achievements, David was most deeply defined by his faith and devotion to Jehovah God. Baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1963, David lived harmoniously with Bible principles and found immense joy in sharing his hope in God’s Kingdom. His love for Jehovah was evident in his words and actions, as he regularly encouraged others with the promises found in the Scriptures. (Isaiah 65:21-23; Revelation 21:3, 4) He was a deeply loved congregation member known for his kind and upbuilding spirit.
David sincerely appreciated Jehovah’s creation, which he captured through his passion for photography. He also enjoyed immersing himself in meaningful reading that enriched his understanding and broadened his perspective. These interests reflected his thoughtful and reflective personality, which endeared him to many.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Natasha Von Hawley, who faithfully supported him. He is also survived by his sister, Kay Hawley Riddle; his children, Monika Hawley, Erik Hawley, Mark Hawley, and Tammy Hawley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and George Hawley; his brothers, Thomas Hawley and Robert Hawley; and his sister, Mary Hawley.
A graveside service in his memory will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Vancleave Cemetery No. 1 in Vancleave, Mississippi, at 2:00 PM. A reception will follow at Riemann Family Funeral Home in West Jackson County (13872 Lemoyne Blvd., Biloxi, MS) from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. All are warmly invited to gather and reflect on David’s life, his love for Jehovah, and our hope of reuniting with him in the resurrection. (John 5:28, 29)
