David C. "D.C." Varnado, age 83, trusted God and is now in heaven where he was meant to be. He went to his reward on Sunday, July 16, 2023, in Gulfport, MS.
David was born to the late L.C. Varnado and Etta Dye Varnado on April 29, 1940, in Saucier, MS.
He was a lifelong resident of the Gulfport – Biloxi area. He went to Advanced Grammar school in Saucier, MS and graduated from Perkinston High School, class of 1959. David retired from Anchor Glass Company after 25 years of service and Hartson-Kennedy after 16 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.C. Varnado and Etta Dye Varnado; his sister, Delphine O’Mara; his brother, Harold Varnado; and three brother in laws, Leroy Lee, Donovan Ladner, and Edvon Ladner.
David is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Betina “Tina” Price; his son, Brian Christopher “Chris” Varnado; his sisters, Gladys Lee, Ethel Ladner, and Mary Moran; his brother, Leslie Varnado; his grandchildren, Denyelle Jones (Jason), Chad Lawrence (Kristin), Kelsey Mullett (Chris), and David Varnado; numerous great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He loved country music, dancing, going out to eat, meeting people, and he especially enjoyed being with family and friends. He was a member of the Moose Club of D’Iberville and former member of the Gemini Carnival Club.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS where family and friend are invited to attend from 12:00-2:00PM with a service at 2:00PM, interment will follow at Dye Cemetery in Saucier, MS.
