David Lamar Clark, a dedicated member of his community and a cherished family man, passed away on September 8, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on December 8, 1941, David led a life marked by service, accomplishment, and passion.
A proud veteran, David served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, rising to the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. His military career was distinguished by numerous accolades, including the National Defense Medal for his service in Vietnam, three Bronze Stars, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, and the Air and Space Longevity Service Award. His commitment to his country was further complemented by a successful career in civil service, where he spent 20 years as a Program Manager. His technical expertise also shone through during his four years as a Mechanical Technician at PSI Engineering.
David was a graduate of Rossville High School, class of 1959, an institution that laid the foundation for his lifetime of learning and achievement.
Beyond his professional endeavors, David engaged in a variety of hobbies that showcased his zest for life. He was an avid water skier, often seen gracefully slaloming, sometimes even backwards. A passionate golfer, he enjoyed countless hours on the greens. Known for his mechanical prowess, he had a remarkable ability to rebuild or fix anything, and his love for classic cars led him to build and customize several throughout his life. David found joy in sharing these pursuits with his beloved canine companions.
David's faith played an integral role in his life as a devoted member of Meadowood Baptist Church in Midwest City, Oklahoma. This commitment to his faith was paralleled only by his devotion to his family.
David is preceded in death by his father, Charles Clark, his mother, Laura Mae Clark, and his siblings, brother Charles Dwayne Clark, and sister Glenda Elizabeth Clark.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Diane Paige Clark, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. David is also survived by his two sons, Michael Blalock Clark and David Chadwick Clark; his nieces: Lillian Carroll, Meredith Clark, and Andrea Clark-Roope, and Brittany Blackmon and her husband Ethan Lee; and his sister-in-law Lisa Blackmon and her husband Danny.
A Celebration of his Life and inurnment at Biloxi National Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date.
