David Ashley Cain died July 16th 2017, with his family by his side, in Gulfport, Mississippi at
Canon Hospice, at the age of 38. A beloved son, brother, uncle and devoted friend, David never
failed to be there for his family, friends and community. Through his strength, courage and love,
he was an example, a role model and inspiration to many.
He was born on May 4, 1979 in Biloxi, Mississippi to Harvey and Marsha Cain. Being in a
Military family, he lived in several places while growing up. Germany being one where he was
the first of his family to learn German. David graduated from D'Iberville High School with honors in 1997 where he was the President of the whole student body. He went on to earn his
Associate's degree in Business at Jefferson Davis Community College, while working at AAFES
David moved to Dallas, Texas in 2003, where he tried many adventurous jobs, but found his
Dream-job at the Apparel Group as the Senior Executive Account Manager, where he managed
accounts for many clothing lines.
David was very involved in many organizations around Dallas, helping with many fundraisers for those in need. He was always a giver and not a receiver and stayed anonymous when donating. He had a heart of gold and would help in anyway and not be glorified for it.
David was the only grandson and youngest of 6 grandchildren from the Cain side of the family.
He was named after his great-great grandfather David S. Cain who lived from 1861 to 1939, and his great- grandfather Ashley Cain who lived from 1893 to 1976.
David is survived by his parents, Harvey A. Cain, and Marsha M. Cain; his sisters, Wendy
Cleland (Dave), Becky Priest (James Eckert); He also leaves behind two precious gifts,
Nieces, Lacey Marie Cleland and Hannah Denise Priest, that he would have given the world to.
David leaves many friends behind that meant the world to him but he has much love for Darrin
Martin, Stephanie White friends from Dallas; Crystal Eid of New Orleans, and his high school
best friend Erin Holmes.
David has fought a fight like no other and now has gone to rest in the heavenly Kingdom with
his Grandparents JB and Hazel Cain and John Tom and Lavern French.
Funeral Service will be held at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 13872 Lemoyne
Blvd. at Washington Ave., on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 12:00 pm with visitation one hour prior. David will be laid to rest at Coalville cemetery in Woolmarket, Mississippi.
Many thanks from the family, to many family and friends who supported and prayed for them
during this difficult time. Thank you to Dr. Wall, Beth Seymour, and to Canon Hospice who
treated David and his family with so much care and love. Canon Hospice made every moment
