David Ashton

David Earl Ashton, age 61, of St. Martin, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Ocean Springs Hospital.
David was well known in his neighborhood for his kindness, whether cutting your grass or fixing something around the house. He was a jack of all trades for sure. His kindness spread throughout the community where he also enjoyed helping the homeless bringing them necessities or offering a ride. He will be truly missed by all.
David was employed for 42 years with Huntington Ingalls Industries (Ingalls Shipbuilding). He was a Master Shipbuilder, SERA 1994 C Class Champion and SERA 1997 B Senior Class Champion. He enjoyed dirt bike riding & racing, cutting dirt bike trails and working on small engines.
Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Mary Ashton; his father & mother-in-law, Louie and Zetta Crosby; and his beloved dog, Milton.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Kim Ashton; his children, Chris Ashton (Crystal) and Sara Ashton (Caitlin); his siblings, Robby Ashton (Don Borck) and Kerry Ashton (Danny Murphy); his grandchildren, Conlan and Caiya Ashton; his brother-in-law, Tim Crosby (Angie); his nephew, Justin Crosby (Alison); several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins; and his K9 companions, Axl and Fern.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, January 21st from 5 until 6 p.m., at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. @ Washington Ave., West Jackson County. The Memorial Service will follow at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
