David Allen

David Allen passed away February 18, 2013 in Gulfport at the age of 60.
David was born May 6, 1952 in Memphis, TN. A 1977 graduate of Memphis State University, he married his wife Barbara Canipe Allen and they have three children, Brooke, Jonathan, and Scott.
David began his career in the car business in 1975; he was the founder and owner of Allen Toyota and Allen Hyundai. In addition to the car business, he also was a real estate developer.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara; children, Brooke Kimberly Allen and her husband David Davenport of Birmingham, Jonathan Park Allen of Gulfport, and Scott Christopher Allen of Gulfport; parents, Bert and Dot Allen of Oxford; and sister, Barby Allen of Atlanta, GA.
He was preceded in death by Les McKee.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, February 22, 2013 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Christian Life Center at Trinity United Methodist Church in Gulfport. The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm in the Sanctuary at Trinity United Methodist Church.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests donations to Trinity United Methodist Church or the Mississippi Diabetes Association.
