Dau Van Nguyen

March 12, 1947 — May 18, 2023

Gulfport

On the evening of Thursday, May 18, 2023, Dau Nguyen, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 76 in his home in Gulfport, MS, surrounded by his loving family.

Dau Nguyen was born on March 12, 1947, in Tây Ninh, Vietnam, to Nguyen Van Thu and Nguyen Thi Nien. He grew up in a close-knit family and developed a strong sense of responsibility and dedication from an early age.

After completing his education, Dau served in the South Vietnamese military for 14 years, where he demonstrated unwavering commitment and bravery. His service to his country was a testament to his deep love and dedication to his homeland.

Later, in pursuit of a better life for his wife and family, Dau immigrated to the United States with his beloved wife, Dung Do, and their children on April 14, 1992. They first arrived in Houston, TX, where they resided for a few years before settling in Tupelo, MS. It was in Tupelo where Dau started his own business, achieved his US citizenship, and devoted himself to raising his family.

Dau Nguyen was not only a devoted husband and father but also a faithful Catholic. His strong faith in God guided him throughout his life, providing him with strength and comfort during both joys and challenges. He found solace and inspiration through his religious beliefs.

After retiring, Dau and his wife moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where they found joy and contentment. Dau enjoyed indulging in his passions, such as fishing and gardening, alongside his beloved wife. He found solace and peace in the serenity of nature and the simple pleasures of life.

Dau Nguyen will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Dung Do, his son Corey Khoi Nguyen, his daughters Kathy Thieu Nguyen, Hong Tran Nguyen, and Hong-An Nguyen and eight grandkids. Dau leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and perseverance that will continue to inspire and guide his family for generations to come.
