Darrell D. Wilson, age 59, of Gulfport, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020.
Mr. Wilson was formerly of Grand Junction, CO and Stewartsville, MO. He graduated from Stewartsville High School and served in the United States Navy as a Seabee from July 1979 until July 31, 1999. Following military retirement, he worked for the Civil Service for 20 years as a heavy mobile equipment mechanic. He loved his God, family, grandkids, church family, and hunting. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Orange Grove for 31 years. Darrell's love of God, church, life, family, country, and friends was evident in everything he did. His laughter, compassion, and love will be greatly missed. Our hearts and love are with him in Heaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oma Idell Holdridge Wilson and and Roy Gilbert Wilson; brother, Waco Paul Wilson; sister, Patricia Lee-Ann Wilson; father-in-law, Rev. Melvin E. Meeks; and sister-in-law, Belinda Gail Meeks.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rhonda Paulette Meeks Wilson; Pops, Dennis Wilson; children, Kristoffer Dean Wilson (Bheverlie Anne Cuevas-Wilson) and Kandiss Nickole Wilson Holland (Curtis Dwain Holland); brother, Douglas Austin Wilson (Teresa Sauve-Wilson); sister-in-law, Janet Wilson (her children, Jeremy, Jason, and Joey Wilson); sister, Jamie Wilson Goettling (Eric, and their children, Kyleigh, Braxton, Myles, and Brooks); brother, Charlie Wilson (Kim, and their children, McKinley and Logan); sister Kristi Wilson (David Rissler); grandchildren, Emma Cheyenne Wilson, Dakota Rose Wilson, Zayne Jeremy Cuevas, Blaize Ariella Cuevas, Orren Nash Wilson, Wyatt Melvin Holland, and Clyde Dwain Holland; mother-in-law, Dorothy Maxine Tackett Meeks; brother-in-law, Billy Eugene Meeks (Jannette, and their children, Christina Colvin, Nicholas Meeks, Billy Meeks, Jr.); brother-in-law, Perry Benette Meeks (Wendy, their children, Justin Meeks and Samantha Johnson).
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at First Pentacostal Church of Orange Grove at 12:00 pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial will be in Arkansas.
