Darlton Ballard, Jr.

Darlton "Mac" Ballard, Jr. passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020, age 74. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Meri Michelle Ballard and Mitzy Ballard and his father Darlton Ballard, Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Leslie Hull Ballard, and his mother, Jackye Ballard and his children Gregory Ballard, Sr. (Amanda), Brandon Ballard (Courtney) and Smokie and Brownie Ballard. He is also survived by his sister Sandra B. McQuagge and his 7 grandchildren, Geoff Ballard, Chelsea Rodenroth, Sydney Ballard, Ryan Ballard, Zaylee McMichael, Gregory Ballard, Jr. and Aaliyah Sheikh. Mac was a former resident of Gulfport, MS and was a resident of Columbia,MS. He was a graduate of Gulfport High School class of 1964 and was a graduate of MGCCC where he received his BA in Restaurant Management. He served in the Unites States Marine Corp and received many medals. He retired from Autozone and from Equifax and he was a specialist in repairing tracted vehicles (Amtrac). He enjoyed restoring cars, appreciated antiques and seeing value in everyday items. He was a Foster parent to many children and was a supporter of Foster Care. A While we went against his wishes, of being buried in the backyard in a cardboard box; he will be interred in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach, MS.
