Darlene Ann Hurlbert Herndon passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011, at the young age of 56 from cancer. She was born on September 28, 1954 and was a life long resident of Biloxi.
Darlene is survived by her sister, Cheryl Hurlbert Sexton and brother-in-law, Phillip
Sexton of Gulfport; her nephew, Robert ""Bobby"" Sexton. Darlene had two aunts, Judy Eleuterius and Joan Holley and three uncles, Hubert Hurlbert, Lanny Rodriguez, Danny Rodriguez and her life long best friend, Nancy Poole Kear. She also had many cousins and friends that will miss her dearly, Diane Hurlbert Feola, Toni Lynn Hurlbert Adams, Delmas Holley, Nettie Holley Stauts, Dana Holley Waltman, Stacey Eleuterius Barber, Raymond Rodriguez, Johnny Williams, Stevie Ray Williams, Josef Williams, Susan Hurfreth Willoughby and a goddaughter, Lorie Nichols Cospelich.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Herndon, her parents, Earl ""Skeeter"" and Patricia ""Patsy"" Hurlbert; her grandparents, Daniel and Althea Rodriguez and John and Nora Hurlbert, her brother, Robert ""Bobby"" Hurlbert, her aunt, Marsha Hurlbert, her cousin, Jason Hurlbert, her godson, Lanny Holley and infant cousin, Landon Rodriguez.
Darlene had many talents and interests. She had a cake business for many years and made people smile with her beautiful and delicious desserts. She loved music, travel, animals, and shopping, but most of all she loved her family and friends. She will be remembered for her big heart, sense of humor and love and devotion to her family.
She was a member of a Widows group and made many friends in the organization.
Darlene did not want a memorial service but asked that everyone just remember her life
and celebrate it in our own way. In order to honor her last wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services.

Darlene's favorite quote was ""Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the
moments that take your breath away"". If she were writing this, she would ask that each of us remember this in our every day life and make the most of the time that we have together.
She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
