Danny Lee Brooks, age 67, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022, in Ocean Springs.
Danny was born on August 17, 1954, in Gastonia, North Carolina, and was a long-time resident of Ocean Springs. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, entering in April 1977, and was honorably discharged in June 1986, as a Sergeant. He served as a Telecommunications Specialist and received the following: ASR, AAM, OSR, AGCM (3rd Award), NPDR, ARCOM and M16 (Exp).
Following his military career, Danny continued working in Telecommunications, having recently retired from AT&T. He enjoyed woodworking and birdwatching; was a Ribmaster, fishing, Braves baseball, civil war documentaries, old westerns and squirrel “hunting” and he loved cheering on his grandchildren’s sports endeavors. Danny was a member of the Audubon Society.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Bill Brooks and Barbara Bradley Brooks of Gastonia, N.C.; his sister, Rhonda Holland; his brother, Richard Brooks; and his first wife, Kimberly Elizabeth Brooks.
He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 11 years, Kathleen Renee’ Brooks of Ocean Springs; his 4 daughters, Margaret Balding and husband, Jon, Rebecca Fuller and husband, Bryan, Rachel Cartwright and husband, Brian, and Sharon McCarthy and husband, Kevin; his siblings, Deborah Langford (Coleman), Joann Lee (Robert), David Brooks (Marilyn), Margaret Brooks Beaty, Floyd Billy Brooks, Jr., and Barbara Brooks Bradley; his grandchildren, Grant Cartwright, Renee’ Brooks, Courtney Balding, Macy McCarthy, Elizabeth Balding, McKenzie Cartwright, Tate Cartwright and Quinn Fuller; his great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Stephens, Kyrell Fleming, Oliver Brooks, Avery Cartwright and Giovanni Fleming; his uncle, Marshall Bradley; his aunt, JoAnn Brooks; and by many other loving family members and friends.
Friends are invited to join the family for visitation, services and a reception on Saturday, July 2nd, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., West Jackson County. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., with the funeral service at 11 a.m. Everyone is invited to stay for a reception at the funeral home following the service.
