Daniel Rogers

Daniel Hayden Rogers died January 7, 2018 at Saint Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi after an extended illness. He was a resident of Long Beach, Mississippi and is survived by his mother, Linda Rogers Godard of Gulf Shores, Alabama and father, E. Wayne Rogers, as well as stepbrother, Richard Godard and stepsisters, Karen (Mike) Austin, Diane Godard, Susan (George) Shelton and Carol Godard, all of California.
Daniel was born in Fort Pierce, Florida and grew up in Long Beach, Mississippi. After moving to the Bay area of California, his family resided for years in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia, where Daniel discovered a love for travel.
He served five years in the U.S. Army, including a two-year deployment in Aschaffenburg, Germany. After an honorable discharge, he moved back to Mississippi and embarked on his career in the marine trades industry. In August of 1991 he began working for Edison Chouest Offshore. During his 27-year career with the company he attained the rank of Captain in the U.S. Merchant Marines and captained ships in the Gulf of Mexico, Nigeria and Angola.
A memorial service will be held February 17th at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, MS, with visitation at 2:00 pm and service at 3:00 pm.
