Daniel Ray

Daniel Grady Ray, Jr., age 70, of Long Beach, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at his home on February 24, 2010 . He was born on December 21, 1939 and was a life long resident of Long Beach. He was the owner of Dan Ray Construction Co., Inc. He along with his family successfully ran the construction business for over 50 years. He loved being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. He was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He had a great love for his Catholic faith and for the ministries of the church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Harold Ray, parents, Daniel Grady Ray, Sr. and Vera Mae Ott Ray, sister, Barbara Ray Barnett, and his special aunt and uncle, Harold and Beatrice Reinike.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rita Gibson Ray, his children, Laura Burrus (Eugene), DeeDee McCaffrey (Tim), and Patrick Ray, Sr. (Suzanne), and daughter-in-law Ann Ray, grandchildren, Daniel Ray (Ashley), Anthony Ray, Lauren Ray, Ashleigh McCaffrey Seal (Bear), Timothy McCaffrey (Erin), Haylee McCaffrey, Patrick Ray, Jr. (Brandi), Tori Ray, great-grandchildren, Rylee McCaffrey, Abigail McCaffrey, Jaelyn Ray, Jordin Ray, & Jasmine Ray, brothers Wayne Ray (DeeDee), Floyd Ray (Joyce), Spunky Ray (Liz), and Lynwood Reinike (Joyce)
all of Long Beach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Saturday, February 27, 2010 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church where friends may visit from 9 - 10 am.
Interment will be in Long Beach City Cemetery.
