Daniel "Dan" Triplett Day, age 55 of Gulfport died Tuesday, June 19, 2018. Dan was born February 15, 1963 in Gulfport, Mississippi to Mr. James M. Day and Mrs. Joan McCabe Day. He was the owner of TD Pharmacy in Gulfport and Woolmarket Pharmacy in Biloxi. He was past parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Gulfport and a current parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church of Woolmarket.
He was a 1981 Graduate of Gulfport High School. While in high school, Dan was a competitive water skier, winning numerous regional 1

and 2
nd
place standings. He served as Grand Master for the Theta Gamma Chapter of Phi Kappa National Fraternity. Dan was awarded the Jacob Broughton Nelson Award for outstanding Grandmaster in 1981. After high school, Dan attended the University of Mississippi where he majored in Pharmacy. While at the University of Mississippi, he was an active member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He graduated from the University of Mississippi School with a B.S. in Pharmacy in 1987.
Dan began his 29-year Pharmacy career working alongside his father James "Jim" M. Day in the family business of Triplett Day Drugs in downtown Gulfport, which has been in business for 63 years. He was proud to be the 4th generation pharmacist in his family serving the citizens of South Mississippi. In 1998, Dan was instrumental in the establishment of the St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy. He continued his commitment to the homeless, unemployed, and less fortunate in the community for over 20 years until his untimely passing.
There were innumerable recipients of Dan's confidential, discreet, and dignified acts of kindness.
He was a member of the Gulfport Yacht Club, Bayou Bluff Tennis Club, Ole Miss Alumni Association, the Gulfport Century Club, the Mississippi Pharmacy Association, and the Mississippi Independent Pharmacy Association. In later years, Dan became a competitive marathon runner and triathlete.
Dan is survived by his loving parents, Mr. and Mrs. James M. Day; brothers, Steve Day (Kathy), Samuel Day (Kim); and his sister, Poem Love (Rance). In addition to his siblings, he is survived by his 6 nephews, Randall Love, Hunter Day, Keaton Day, Ashton Johnson, Brock Day, Forrest Day; and his only niece, Janin Love Keating (Dennis) . In addition to his adoring family, he is survived by two Godsons and an uncountable number of close friends who will miss his wit, loyalty, and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy, 715 Division St., Biloxi, MS 39530.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 8343 Woolmarket Road, Biloxi, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until Mass.
Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
