DR. DAN HILL LOCHNER, 64, passed away on September 26, 2012 in Pascagoula, Mississippi with his family at his side.
Dan was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana but lived in Biloxi for the past 22 years. He attended the United States Naval Academy and served 2 tours in Vietnam following graduation. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Dan graduated from Purdue University's College of Veterinary Medicine, and he also held a Masters in Veterinary Pathology from Louisiana State University.
Dan is known and loved by his family and friends for his keen intellect and honesty. He enjoyed a number of interests, including flying and racing formula vee race cars. Dan loved horse racing and authored a book on genetics and thoroughbred handicapping. His humility and modesty belied his life's accomplishments. As a husband and father, Dan was immensely proud of and loyal to his family.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis Lochner and Floriede Hill Lochner.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Felten Lochner; daughter, Sarah Lochner Ainsworth and her husband Jason; daughter, Emily Lochner Allen and her husband Joshua; grandson, Jack Ainsworth; and sister, Mary Ann Lochner and her partner Kay Wheeler - all of whom will miss him terribly.
