Mr. Damon Eugene ""Gene"" Davenport, age 57, resident of Long Beach, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2011.
Mr. Davenport was born in Shelby, MS to Harvey W. Davenport and Betty Jane Crowley Davenport Bragg. He was a roofer by trade and was an avid pool player and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Billy, who passed away on March 29, 2011.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Jane Bragg and stepfather, C.N. ""Tracy"" Bragg; daughter, Catherine Davenport; stepchildren, Nicki Hanley and Hannah Burk; siblings, Harvey Lee (Theresa) Davenport and Cynthia Jane (Jerald) Carroll; grandchildren, Damon Matthew Smith and Hayden Lee Smith; nephew, William Davenport, Jr.; nieces, Tina Davenport, Amanda Davis, and Danita Mirelez; and his former wife, Patricia Davenport.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, at 10 a.m. Friends may visit from 8:30-10a.m.
Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
