Curvis James Cuevas, 73, of Lizana, died Thursday, March 9, 2006 in Gulfport.
He was a lifelong resident of Lizana and served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He worked over 35 years with the VA Hospital and was a member of St Ann's Catholic Church in Lizana. He was also a member of the VFW and former member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Cuevas enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He was an avid sports fan of basketball, football and Ole Miss sports.
He is preceded in death by his parents Renelder Joseph and Mable Louise Lowrey Cuevas, and brothers, Melton & Jimmy Cuevas.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Cuevas of Lizana, a son, Luke Cuevas of Alexandria, LA, and three sisters and two brother, Beulah Wilson of Lizana, Betty M. Ladner, of Dedeaux, Earl Cuevas of Lizana, Nelson Cuevas of Hawesville, KY and Beatrice """"Marie"""" Cuevas of Lyman.
Visitation will be Monday, March 13, 2006 at St Ann's Catholic Church in Lizana from 11:00-1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Wolf River Cemetery.
