Crystal Kent

Crystal Jean Kent, age 65, passed away on January 7, 2023 in Gulfport. She was born at Wheelus Air Force Base in Tripoli, Libya. She graduated from Biloxi High School, Class of 1975 and graduated from USM in 1980 with a BS in Special Education. She worked at The Eye Clinic in Gulfport for nearly 30 years, retiring in 2015.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Kent; parents, Nina Spurr Powers and Thomas Powers; and her sisters, Sheila Scheick and Cheryl Bond.

She is survived by her daughters, Kylene Taylor (David), Tracey Quinn, Kelly Shierling (Thomas); grandchildren, Lukas Taylor, Samuel Taylor, Maddie Lybrand, Brooke Quinn, Carter Quinn; brothers-in-law Richard Scheick, Douglas Kraft; mother-in-law Pauline Orr; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Rd. Gulfport, MS, with visitation starting at 3:00 p.m. Reception will follow at the funeral home reception center.

A committal service at Biloxi National Cemetery will be on Monday, January 16, 2023.
