Craig Mathis died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the age of 55.
Craig was a Christian man, a proud American who served his country, a devoted family man,beloved grandfather or ""Papa"" as he liked, proud member of the AT&T family, loving son and brother, beloved Uncle, dear friend to many, and truly an honest, upright, and involved citizen.
Craig retired from the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant and spent the last 17 years as a technician with Bell South/AT&T. He was also a proud long time member of Bibleway Baptist Church in D'Iberville.
Craig was preceded in death by his father, Talley C. Mathis of Valdosta, GA, and wife Allison Mathis. He is survived by his longtime mate and partner, Deberoh Mitchell; son Jason Mitchell (Jamie); and daughter Charity Mitchell; grandchildren, Emma Mitchell and Jack Mitchell, all of D'Iberville. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Mathis; his sisters, Hope Roe (Louie) and Dawn Panter; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, all of Valdosta, GA. Craig will be dearly missed by all lives he touched.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11:30 AM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd, Biloxi with a visitation for family and friends from 10:00 AM until the service. Burial with military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. A second visitation for family will be held at Bibleway Baptist Church in D'Iberville following burial.
