Cornelia Slaton Parker

Cornelia Slaton Parker, age 92, of Diamondhead, MS, passed away on October 28, 2023. She was born on July 27, 1931, in Yazoo County, MS., to Edna Janet Jones and Henry Clay Slaton.

Preceding her in death was her husband, William Riley Parker, Jr.; sisters, infant Mattie Gayle Slaton, and Edna Voncile Slaton Seale.

Cornelia is survived by her sisters, Callie Myrle Wilkins (Jesse “Jay” Ray), and Kathrine Dixie Branch (Dr. Franklin); and her stepdaughter, Virginia Karen Guillot. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Elisa Fisher, William Humble, Nicholas Humble; her great-grandchildren, Chase Fisher, Laila Fisher, Clu Humble, Avery Knox, Brixton Humble, Cameron Humble, and Mason Humble.

Cornelia enjoyed music, gardening, reading, and bridge. She also enjoyed volunteering at Hancock Food Pantry and other community organizations. She was an active member of Diamondhead Community Church, where she also served as Deacon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Diamondhead Community Church.

A graveside service will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery at a time and date to be determined with Reverend Jason Edwards officiating.
