Cora Lee French, age 89 and a resident of Long Beach, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 5, 2012 in Pass Christian.
A faithful member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach, she was the essence of vitality and strength. Although small in stature, she had a larger than life presence with a zest for living. She and her husband made many memories and friendships with their passion for dancing. As a loving wife and mother she received joy from her devotion to her family. Despite many hardships in life, she maintained her steadfast faith and constancy of purpose.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. French;parents, Clifton and Ida Bell Bufkin; her brothers, John Clifton Bufkin and Douglas Glen Bufkin; a son, John Edison French, Jr., and two daughters, Vicki French and Terri French Hall.
Cora Lee is survived by two children Sharron Lowe (Charles) and John L. French(Marcia), five grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Long Beach with a visitation from 10:00 AM until the Mass. Graveside services will follow at Evergreen Gardens on 28th Street in Gulfport.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Dixie White House Nursing Home, Rachel Walker, and other staff at St. Joseph Hospice for their loving care and kindness.
Masses may be offered as a memorial donation in honor of Cora Lee's love of her church.
