Constance Anne Carpenter

Constance Anne Carpenter, age 71, passed away on July 2, 2024. She was born in Albany, Georgia on November 13, 1952 (a proud Scorpio) and lived the majority of her life in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Connie was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Carpenter; mother, Mary Carpenter (née Mercer); sister, Diane Carpenter; and two brothers, Thomas, Jr. and Paul. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 30 years, Richard Thompson.

She is survived by her only child, daughter Lucy Thompson; and sister, Candace Douglas.

Her death was sudden but she was surrounded by loved ones in her final moments at Gulfport Memorial Hospital. Connie was a proud educator and taught English at Michel and Nichols schools from 1975-1999. She was a gifted singer, a formidable wit, and an active member of the local Democratic Party.

A celebration of Connie’s life will be held on Saturday, July 20th 2024, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Rd. Biloxi, MS. The family encourages attendees to wear Connie's favorite colors: purple and lime green.
