Conchetta, who was 87 years young, died peacefully in her Long Beach home Monday afternoon surrounded by her family. Conchetta is the daughter of Phillip and Catherine Benanti of New Orleans. She is preceded in death by both her husband of 67 years, Noel S. ""Red"" Frantz and their daughter Phyllis Frantz Rodriguez. Conchetta is survived by her daughter Sydney Stickel (Fred), three grandchildren, Philip LeBlanc (JoMarie), Alan Rodriguez, Ronald Kornick, Jr., a brother, Philip Benanti Jr., and two sisters, Gaetanna Jennings and Mary Ann Carlini.
As the family matriarch, Conchetta, or MawMaw, as the family and close family friends knew her, tirelessly and effortlessly cared for her family. Conchetta was a devoted member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Long Beach, and a dedicated fan of the New Orleans Saints. MawMaw was Sydney's best friend and confidant. She was a fearless protector for both Philip and Alan, and a great fan and supporter of Ronald, happily attending baseball games in which he played. Her home had the aroma of a five-star restaurant's kitchen. There was always something cooking for hungry family and friends. During WW II, while working in a manufacturing facility making Army uniforms, Conchetta had the distinction of making one of General Douglas MacArthur's hats. Now her work here is finished, and she finally has time to have that talk with Jesus. Conchetta can once again painlessly dance the night away with the love of her life, Noel. She'll be playing bingo, and listening to the ""cling clang"" sound of heaven's slot machines. The family is sure Noel (PawPaw) has a cup of her favorite chicory coffee waiting for her. Conchetta, was so proud of the New Orleans Saints' Super Bowl victory, at the age of 85, she had a Fleur-de-Lis tattooed on her arm.
