Mr. Conard N. “Tracey” Bragg, 82, of Long Beach, MS, passed away January 10, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, MS.
Tracey was born June 11, 1938, in Ansted, WV, to the late Artie L. and Marie Bragg. After achieving his high school diploma, he joined the United States Navy where he served 26 years before joining the United States Navy Reserves, retiring as a Chief Steelworker. He served for a total of 34 years in many locations including Danang, Vietnam. During his dedicated and honorable military service to our nation he earned multiple awards and medals including the Naval Unit Commendation Medal; Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal (4); National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal (2); Sea Service Ribbon; Armed Forces Reserve Medal; Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Ribbon (Gallantry Cross); Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (civil action); and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Tracey was a long-time resident of Long Beach and a member of Divine Grace Baptist Church. He loved playing the guitar and singing gospel music, attending Cruisin’ the Coast in his antique cars, and laughing and joking with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Bragg of Long Beach; his sister, Glenda “Coleen” Garcia (David) of FL; his step-son, Harvey Davenport (Theresa) of Long Beach; his step-daughters, Cynthia Carroll of Gulfport and Catherine Smith (Steven) of Long Beach; his grandchildren, Tina Davenport and William Davenport, both of Long Beach, Amanda Davis (Jeremy) of Pass Christian, Danita Mirelez of Gulfport, Damon Smith and Hayden Smith, both of Long Beach; and several great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 15, 2021, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport.
