After an easy pregnancy and uncomplicated delivery, Collins Randall Huffman burst forth into this world on May 18, 2011. He was 9 pounds, 1 ounce and 22 inches of the most handsome and feisty little man the world has ever known. His loud cries were a joy to hear and let the entire operating room know that he had arrived. He had my -- his Mommy's-- dark brown hair and his Daddy's sweet face and broad shoulders. Only God will know what color his soft eyes would have been.
Collins had the spirit of a fighter. But his tiny lungs were unable to support such a tremendous soul, and he was called home to serve the Lord on May 19, 2011. He may only have lived short time, but his life had purpose and meaning. Life is short and we never know what tomorrow may hold. Love each other and cling to your family. Let those people important to you know each day that they matter. Forgive. Find the beauty in little things*a laugh, a smile, a perfect curl of hair*a sweet and wonderful son who you carried under you heart for nine months, your arms a few minutes, and in your heart forever.
Collins is survived by his proud and loving Daddy and Mommy, big brother Manny, as well as both sets of grandparents and a large extended family.
A special thank you to the wonderful neonatal team at Memorial Hospital Gulfport who worked so hard to save his life and who cried alongside us.
A small graveside service is to be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2011 at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi. Anyone who wishes is welcome to attend. For more information, contact RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME at 228-388-9549. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to ""Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep"" or to the Randall Speck Pediatric Endowment Fund at Memorial Hospital Gulfport. Most importantly the family reminds you to cherish each moment that you have on this Earth.
We love you forever sweet Collins. Your Daddy, brother and I know we will be united again in the arms of the Lord. Until then, please let me feel your soft angel wings on my face and your spirit in my heart, forever.
Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.riemannfamily.com.
