CMSgt. USAF

June 29, 1924 — April 14, 2017

It is with immeasurable sadness that the family of Ret. Chief Master Sergeant Lenoard M. Trent must announce his passing on the morning of Friday, April 14, 2017 at the age of 92. He was a resident of Pass Christian, Mississippi.
Lenoard was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Hubert Trent; his brothers, Palma Trent, Lazy Trent, Nelson Trent and H.T. Trent; his sister, Thyra "Mutt" Blakney; and his son-in-law, Abilene Police Officer, Jeff McCoy.
Lenoard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Day Trent; daughter, Sandy McCoy; grand-daughter, Ella McCoy, all of Pass Christian, Mississippi; and his sister, Evelyn Baxter, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, whom he loved dearly.
Lenoard was born on June 29, 1924 in a small cotton farming community called Rural Shade near Kerens, Texas. While he loved his life as a cotton farmer, Lenoard felt called to serve and protect his country so he joined the U.S. Air Corps in 1942 as a Staff Sergeant. Lenoard served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam Conflict. Lenoard deeply loved the opportunity to serve his country in the military. He held the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and was the first Senior Enlisted Advisor in the United States Air Force, a position he created. During his military career, Lenoard was stationed and/or served in North Africa, Italy, Brazil, England, Thailand, Hawaii and, finally, to Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas where he later retired in 1975.
After a long and prosperous career in the U.S.A.F, Lenoard and Dorothy moved to Abilene, TX where he began work in the oil business. For many years, he managed Polo Drilling Company and Trenco Oil.
Among Lenoard's many treasures in life, perhaps his most precious, were his wife Dorothy, daughter, Sandy, and grand-daughter, Ella. Lenoard was a loving and devoted husband and father. Lenoard met his wife Dorothy in 1955. They met on a blind date in Lake Charles, Louisiana and were happily married for 62 years. Their marriage and life together has proved to be an incomparable example of love and commitment.
Lenoard was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Abilene for many years. He was also a Scottish Rite member and a Mason. He was truly a servant to God, his country, his community and his friends and family. He loved them with all of his heart and he will be deeply missed.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 11:30 AM - 1 PM at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd. Biloxi, MS. Immediately following the visitation, Lenoard will be interred at the Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave. Biloxi, MS, with full military honors rendered by the United States Airforce Honor Guard.
