Clyde “Buddy” Litz, Jr., of Gulfport, passed away peacefully at home on July 19, 2022. He was 68 years of age and was a native of Sedalia, Missouri where he graduated from Smith Cotton High School in 1972. He lived on the Gulf Coast for 42 years, where he raised his family. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and continued his military career at Keesler, working as an instructor. He retired after 20 years active duty in Chapel Management.
Buddy was a musician and played locally during the 80’s and 90’s and again throughout the 2010’s. He was a sensational storyteller and enjoyed time with his family and friends, wood working, music, and old cars.
Buddy was preceded in death by his father, Clyde “Sonny” Litz, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Stephanie Scott Litz; his mother, Clara Twyman Cramer (Don); his two children, Shannon Gill (Tut) and Bryan Litz (Ashley); his stepson, Josh Pummill (Jennifer); his brother, Chet Litz; his sister, Clara Marguerite Jones; his four grandchildren, Amber Dawn, Garrett Runnels, Christian Litz, and Faith Litz; and his two step grandchildren, Brayden Pummill and Dylan Pummill.
Buddy will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2022 at Biloxi National Cemetery.
