CMSgt Clifford H. Behrens, U.S. Air Force (Retired), age 100, of Biloxi, passed away on August 5, 2021.
A native of Royal, Illinois, Mr. Behrens was born to John and Anna Behrens. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Master's Degree in Anthropology from the University of Illinois. He retired from the United States Air Force after more than 30 years of service. During his time in the Air Force, he earned and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with One Oak Leaf Cluster and the Meritorious Service Medal. He enjoyed scuba diving, sailing, and reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Herman and John Behrens.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sandra Behrens; children, Carmen Van Zutphen (Joseph) of Nova Scotia, Canada, Paul Behrens (Susan) of Covington, WA, Richard Behrens (Monika) of San Antonio, TX, Mark Behrens (Naomi) of Honolulu, HI, Peter Behrens of Honolulu, HI, and Michael Behrens (Jonanna) of Falls Church, VA; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; and two nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment with military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and kindness and a special thanks to the people of SAAD Healthcare, notably Monique (RN), Vicki and Anna (nurses aides).
