Clayton DeWitt Ramage, 78, passed away on March 4, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Born on July 15, 1946, in Gulfport, Clayton spent his life in the community he loved. Raised as a Handsboro boy, he graduated from Gulfport High School in 1965 and later served his country in the Army National Guard. He will be remembered as one of the original owners of the Brothers Three Lounge and for his many years at Rosskopf Electric Supply. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren always attending dance recitals, school programs, basketball games, soccer games, softball games, swim meets, church programs, and cheerleading events. His love for his grandchildren - Emma, Olivia, Laura, Lillian, and Clayton - was unmatched; they were the light of his life.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Burrus Ramage; his father Russell George Ramage; and his brother Wallace Lee Ramage.
He is survived by his loving wife, LaWanda Barker Ramage; his daughters, Amber Ramage Craig (Hunter) and Fallon Ramage Josef (Jason); his cherished grandchildren Emma Ann Craig, Olivia Jane Craig, Laura Jewel Josef, Lillian Marie Josef, and Clayton Michael Josef; his brother Rusty Ramage (Kitty); many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Clayton had a deep passion for cooking, often preparing meals in his own kitchen or watching the Cooking Channel for inspiration. He was an avid New Orleans Saints fan and enjoyed watching all college sports.
Clayton will be remembered for his kind heart and humble spirit, unwavering work ethic, and profound love for his wife, daughters, grandchildren, family, friends, and his selfless and steadfast commitment to the people around him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Fred Pakron and Dr. Paul Mullen at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport and all the doctors, nurses, and ICU department staff.
