Clara Belle Comeaux Cross, age 88, resident of Gulfport, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2009, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Cross was born in Lafayette, LA to the late Lucien and Alice Comeaux. She lived in Jackson, MS for many years before moving to the Coast in 1984. She retired from BellSouth as an operator. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Gulfport, where she was very active, including serving on the Altar Society. Ballroom dancing was a favorite thing of hers.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert E. Cross; daughter, Brenda J. Cross; brother, Walton Comeaux, and an infant sister.
She is survived by Don Cross of Gulfport and his wife Elaine; brothers, Larry Comeaux of St. Martinville, LA and his wife Hazel, and Earl Comeaux of Lafayette, LA and his wife Dottie; grandchildren, Allison Pike and Christopher Cross; great grandchildren, Malerie, Laney, Avery, and Sam.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2009, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Highway 49N, at 2:00 p.m., where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church, 366 Cowan Lorraine Rd., Gulfport, MS 39507.
