C.J. “Buck” Fayard, age 84, of Pass Christian, passed away on January 31, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Fayard; an infant daughter, Rachel Ann Fayard; his father, C.J. “Tebo” (Hilda) Fayard, Sr.; and his mother, Eva Koolsbergen.
Mr. Fayard is survived by his children, Melanie (Lex) Harshbarger; Regina (Richard) Warren, Rebecca (Derris) Watts, Tracy (Ricky) Patridge, Vicki (Greg) Murray, Clay (Melissa) Fayard, and Gene (Beth) Fayard; a sister, Mary Francis (Pam) Lennox; his grandchildren, Michael (Jenna) Harshbarger, Steven (Linh) Harshbarger, Rachel (David) Eads, Brittany (Cody) Morgan, Brandon (Kristen) Warren, Ashley (Derek) Allen, Anthony (Courtney) Watts, Brent (Krystal) Watts, Katie (Timmy) Bertucci, Kyle (Caitlin) Patridge, Conner (Kathleen) Patridge, Sean (Samantha) Murray, Megan (Garrett) Clark, Landon Fayard, Meghan (Destin) Aime, Dalton Fayard, and Alyssa Fayard; 15 great-grandchildren; a longtime friend, Sheila Smith; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
He was a lifelong resident of Pass Christian and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Pass Christian. He served in the MS Army National Guard as a member of the 155th Infantry, 31st Division. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4472. He was a member of the St. Paul Carnival Association where he reigned as King Christian in 1973.
Mr. Fayard enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, and in his later years, he enjoyed playing bingo. “Buck” was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 5, 2021, from 9:30 – 11:30 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, Pass Christian. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am in the church. Interment will be in Old DeLisle Cemetery.
