Latimer

Christine M. Vandiver, age 80, passed away on February 2, 2025, at her home in Latimer, Mississippi, during breakfast in her husband Max’s arms.

She was born February 28, 1944, in Palmer, Alaska, to parents Rev. Victor Ivar and Virginia Irene (nee, Kiehl) Alfsen who had both preceded her in death.

She leaves behind to cherish memories of her life a loving husband of 60 years of marriage, Max C. Vandiver; siblings, Victor Alfsen and his wife Larisa of Latimer; sisters, Karen Wolf and her husband Lew of Minnesota, and Amy Opara of Poland; special cousin, Mary Heino (nee Painter) and her husband Karl; and her sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Virgil Lindsey.

Christine earned her high school diploma in 1962 from Downingtown PN., and gladly became a loving and devoted housewife. She was a 35-year member of the Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church in Spokane, WA; a true minister’s daughter who professed her faith in the Lord Jesus to her last breath.

She will be laid to rest in Curlew Cemetery, Curlew Washington next to her loving parents and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ferry County Humane Society would be preferred at ferrycountyhs.org/Ansorge-hotel/
