Christi Leigh Casey

 Christi Leigh Casey,  of Ocean Springs, passed away unexpectedly, at home, after a valiant fight with Guillain Barre Syndrome.
Christi was born July 23, 1971, in Pascagoula, MS to James E. and Judy (nee Bailey) Nettles.
 Christi is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Robert “Bob” Casey; her daughter, Sarabeth Casey and two sons, Dylan (Madison) Nappier and Blake Nappier; her granddaughter, Rose Nappier; her mother, Judy Nettles; and her sister Wendi (Dean) Ray.
 Preceded in death by her father, James Edwards Nettles Jr.; her paternal grandparents, James ‘Jim’ E. and Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Nettles; and her maternal grandparents, Ernest and Ernestine Bailey.
Christi graduated with her bachelor’s in journalism from the University of South Alabama, where she met her loving husband.
 Prior to her illness, a few of the things she enjoyed most were shopping, writing, and reading.  After her diagnosis, she enjoyed diving deeper into her Bible and studies and spending quality time with her family.  She found great joy in sending encouraging scriptures and messages to family and friends.  
 Her battles with GBS began just a few short months after her granddaughter, Rose, was born.  Christi never had the chance to meet Rose in person.  She was always eager to work hard and was hopeful for a full recovery, and the chance to meet her granddaughter Rose and spend more time with her family.
 At the onset of her illness, Christi’s view on life was inspiring.  She trusted the Lord and knew He would see her through it.  She loved her family and cherished every moment she was able to spend with her children.  More than anything else, Christi loved her Savior.
 Christi was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.  She will always be remembered for her loving and giving spirit. She will be greatly missed by all.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd, from 2:00 PM until the time of services at 5:00 PM with Pastor Brent Parker officiating. Per Christi’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded.
 The Riemann Family Funeral Home in West Jackson County is honored to serve the Casey family.
