Christa Ingeborg Pientka Stapp

Christa Ingeborg Pientka Stapp, age 74, of Biloxi, died May 2, 2009, in Biloxi.
She was of the Catholic faith.
Mrs. Stapp was born June 27, 1934, in Breslau, Germany. She married Philip Stapp in 1959 and moved to Biloxi that same year. Christa and Phil had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 30. She loved Biloxi and adopted it as her home. Christa received her U.S. naturalization in 1966 and considered it one of her proudest achievements.
She was a past president of the Biloxi Art Association and ran an art studio from her home in Biloxi. She was also active in many Mardi Gras associations on the Coast, having served on court in the Krewes of LeFemmes and Hera. Christa was also a member of the Gulf Coast German Club. She enjoyed painting and travel and continued both until her death.
Mrs. Stapp was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Frieda Pientka; and sisters, Edith Giles and Ruth Rohs.
Survivors include her husband, Philip Stapp, of Woolmarket; children, Todd Stapp, of Saucier, MS; Russell (Koren) Stapp, of LaGrange, GA; Christopher (Kelli) Stapp, of Lyman; and Christina (Jack) Robinson, of Diamondhead, MS; grandchildren, Taylor Stapp, Jordan and Jenna Stapp, Chase Stapp, Drew, Sean, and Katie Robinson; and a great-granddaughter, Reese Robinson.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 12:30 PM at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road in Biloxi, where family and friends may visit from 10:30 AM until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
