Chester Joseph """"Check"""" Ladner, age 78, lifelong resident of Kiln, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2009, in Gulfport.
Mr. Ladner graduated from Dedeaux High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from the Road Maintenance Department of Hancock County. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed deer hunting with his dogs. He enjoyed life and loved spending time with his family. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Lucy Ladner.
He is survived by his children, Melinda and Steve Rose of Kiln, Melissa Guillot of Kiln, Stevie Daniels and Kristie of Kiln, Rhonda and Alexander Tyler of Monticello, MS, Wanda and Anthony Flowers of Kiln, and Randy Daniels and Angela of Kiln; brother, Harrison Ladner of Kiln, and sister Lottie Garriga of Kiln; grandchildren, Nicholas, Nichole, Matt, Brandon, Kayla, Breanna, Zackery, Anthony, Anna, Shanee, Lanee, and Laten; and one great grandchild, Bradyn.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road, where friends may visit from 6-9 p.m. Recitation of the the Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at St. Matthew Catholic Church at 10 a.m., where friends may visit one hour prior to services.
Burial will follow at Alphonse Malley Cemetery.
