Charles L. Westfall, age 77 of Gulfport, MS passed away on Monday, November 3, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mr. Westfall was born in Los Angels, CA, and was a resident of Gulfport since 1963. He was retired from the USAF, after 23 years, and a Civil Service Instructor at KAFB, for 15 years. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church where he served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. Mr. Westfall did volunteer work at the St. John Elementary School, he spoke German, French and Spanish. He was a highly respected Radar Instructor, serving in posts all over the world. He was very helpful to neighbors after Katrina, sharing power and other things with them. aÌ‚â‚Å“He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.""""
Mr. Westfall is preceded in death by his mother, Juliet Duret of Clemecy, France; his father John G. Westfall of Chicago; brothers, Henri, Benjamin, and William.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Westfall of Gulfport; his children, Kathy R. Phillips (James) of Picayune, and Annie Hanna (David) of Knoxville, TN; brother, Jean-Rene Westfall (Martha Jean) of Escondido, CA; nephews, Phillip, Brian and Randolph; seven grandchildren, Mitchell, Herrin, Brandy Blythe, Kyle Herrin, Haylee Herrin, Dylan Phillips, Burgundy Hanna, and Joseph Hanna; two great grandchildren, Kehina Herrin, and Angelique Herrin.
Visitation will be held from 5p.m. until 7p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, with Recitation of the Rosary being held at 6:40p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at St. John Catholic Church, with a visitation from 9:15am until Mass. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Cemetery. An online guestbook may be viewed and signed at www.riemannfamily.com.
