Pass Christian

Charles “Darryl” Traylor, age 65 of Pass Christian, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Traylor; his mother, Ella Dale Traylor; his father, Charles B Traylor; his brother, Dwayne Traylor; and his grandson, Charlie Traylor.

Darryl is survived by his children, Joey Traylor, (Brandi), Gary Traylor (Laura), and Brandy Traylor; his grandchildren, Skylar and William Summerville, Addison, Bristol, and Easton Traylor, Cameron, Benjamin, and Dalanney Traylor; and family and friends that loved him dearly.

In his early years, he began his working life on the water, shrimping along the Gulf Coast as a young man, embracing the hard work and rhythm of the gulf. Later, he transitioned to Alcan Cable, where he spent many dedicated years until the company eventually closed its doors. From there, he returned to his roots on the water, working as a deckhand for Southern Belle charters. It was here that he finished his career, sharing his love for the sport with others. Throughout his varied journey, he was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and the respect he earned from all who worked alongside him.

Darryl was a man of simple pleasures and true passions. He spent many cherished days saltwater fishing with light tackle, pursuing the thrill of the catch along the Gulf. In the quiet of Mississippi’s marshlands, he found joy in duck hunting, appreciating both sport and the beauty of the wild. A skilled woodworker, he took pride in crafting pieces with his own hands, leaving behind creations that carry his touch. His hobbies were not only pastimes but a reflection of his love for life’s quiet moments and the outdoors.

He was a kind man, always ready with a warm smile and a helping hand, living a life marked by generosity and quiet strength. Known for his gentle spirit and open heart, he never met a stranger. His presence will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all who have shown love, support, and kindness during this difficult time. Your comforting words, prayers, and gestures of sympathy have been a great source of strength. We are deeply grateful for each one of you and find peace in knowing how much he was loved.
