Charles William Netterville Jr., fondly known as Billy, passed away on July 31, 2024, in Ocean Springs at the age of 67. Born on August 5, 1956, in Newellton, Louisiana, Billy was the beloved son of Charles William Netterville and Mary Ann Netterville/Norris.
Billy graduated from Tallulah Academy in 1974. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree from Northeastern University in Monroe and a Master of Social Work from Grambling State University. His constant seeking for knowledge and spirituality led him to further his education with a Master of Theology from Trinity Bible College pursuing his PHD.
He dedicated his professional life to serving others as a Clinical Social Worker for the Louisiana State Department of Corrections. At his core, he was a helper, passionate about his work and committed to changing lives. His unique ability to connect deeply with others allowed him to truly touch people's hearts and make a significant difference in their lives.
Billy was a man full of life with many chapters. He was an avid reader with a desire to learn. Beyond his professional and intellectual pursuits, his greatest joy came from his family. He adored his children and grandchildren and had a playful spirit. He was also a very passionate football fan, always enthusiastic about the game.
He had many identities and was a loving person, a helping man, a great father, a master at social working and theologian. Billy will not be forgotten.
Billy is preceded in death by his father, Charles William Netterville. He leaves behind a loving family, including his mother, Mary Ann Netterville/Norris; his sister, Debra Lynn Netterville/Petersen of Newellton, LA; and his three children: Roxy Netterville Condrey (Ted) of Ocean Springs, Matthew Gentry Netterville (Brooke) of Lafayette, LA, and Justin Elijah Netterville (Haley) of Youngsville, LA. He is also survived by his treasured grandchildren: Ruby Elle Condrey, Gentry Hughes Condrey, William River Christian Netterville, Liam Elijah Netterville, and Grey Charles Netterville.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, August 4th, at 11:00 AM at Legion Memorial Cemetery at 1086 LA-605, Newellton, Louisiana 71357.
Charles William Netterville, Jr’s legacy of compassion, curiosity, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
