Charles M. Moran, 78, resident of Gulfport, died on Thursday, November 9, 2006, in Gulfport.
Born November 11, 1927 to the late Renelder and Elise McGough Moran in Gulfport, Mr. Moran was a lifelong resident of Harrison County and retired after 30 years of civil service as a security guard at the U.S.N.C.B. in Gulfport. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and Korea, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edna E. Moran of Gulfport; children, Linda S. Swilley (Luther) of Perkinston, Evelyn F. Fritts of Gulfport, Charles M. Moran, Jr. (Rebecca) of Gulfport, Wanda L. Walker (J.T. """"Bud"""") of Gulfport, and Elise Rester (Mike) of Poplarville; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Mr. Moran donated his remains to medical research at Tulane University. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2006, at 5 p.m. at Gulf Haven Mennonite Church in Gulfport where friends may visit an hour prior to services.
