Charles Jules """"Charlie"""" Mires, Sr., age 75 and a resident of Gulfport, died Sunday, August 31, 2008 in Starkville, MS.
Mr. Mires was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U. S. Marine Corp. He was a longtime employee and retired from Specialty Machine Works.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis O. Mires, and his mother, G. Odeal Mires.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Mires; two children, Deborah Bridges, and Charles J. """"Chuck"""" Mires, Jr., and his wife Julie; two step-children, Laura Luke and husband Martin Gwynn, and Ed Luke and his wife Xiaoling Tong; one grandson, Michael J. Mires; and three step-granddaughters, Brady Gwynn, Helen Ping, and Tessa Luke.
Friends are invited to visit from 5:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2008 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd, Biloxi. The Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.
