Charles Leslie Lake, age 84 of Diamondhead, died on Monday, May 8, 2006 in Diamondhead.
Born in Cambridge, Ohio, Mr. Lake served in the United States Army during WWII and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, a member of the American Legion, and was a longtime member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists. Mr. Lake retired after 35 years of service as an Exploration Geophysicist for Conoco, having worked in the Rocky Mountains, Canada, California, and Houston. He loved sports and enjoyed golf, snow skiing and curling.
Mr. Lake is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie & Margaret Jenkins Lake and his son, Thomas Alan Lake.
Mr. Lake is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Lake of Diamondhead; his daughter, Leslie Kliever and her husband, Les of Calgary, Canada; his sisters, Mrs. Mary Ellen Hager and Mrs. Shirley Bowers, both of Canton, OH; his grandchildren, Jeff Lake, Melissa Lake, and Andrea Lake, all of Denver, CO, and Matthew Kliever of Canada; his daughter-in-law, Lynn Lake of Denver, CO.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 10:00am at Gulf Coast Funeral Homes, Inc., Kiln DeLisle Road Chapel. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors. An online guestbook may be signed at www.gulfcoastfh.com.
