Charles E. Kremer, age 80 of Gulfport, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020.
Mr. Kremer was born in Gulfport, MS, at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital to Alphonse Edward and Ardis Kremer, Jr.
He studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame, where he was also a member of the Notre Dame Sailing Team. Mr. Kremer went to work repairing boats at Kremer Marine and enjoyed that profession until Hurricane Katrina forced his retirement.
He was a member of St. James Church, Knights of Columbus, the President Emeritus of the Gulf Coast Opera, and a board member of Gulf Coast Community Concert.
Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Fisher Kremer; his brother, Alphonse E. Kremer, Jr.; his sister, Joan Kremer McGraw; and his second wife, Solange Frappier Kremer.
He is survived by his son, Charles E. Kremer, II; his daughter, Tracy Kremer Bailey; and five grandchildren, Sophie and Fisher Kremer (and their mother, Ashley Peden Kremer Dimitriades), Morgan, Kyanne and Charley Bailey; and his sister, Ardis Kremer (Maryknoll).
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 27, 2020, at St. James Cemetery, Gulfport, with a reception to follow.
