Diamondhead

Charles Randolph "Randy" Grammar, age 68, of Diamondhead, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, January 31, 2020.

Randy was many things to many people over his lifetime and reached more accomplishments than most could only ever dream of.  He was born in Portland, OR to Charles Edward Grammar and Marilynn Virginia Elias, and spent much of his childhood being raised by his grandmother Mabel June Elias. At a young age, he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged after serving in the Vietnam War.  He then went on to build and pastor churches throughout Mississippi and Texas.  After which he went on to develop radio and TV stations in conjunction with being a radio personality that everyone adored.  After his exceptional stint in radio, he ventured into managing, owning and building bowling centers in the Jackson, MS area.  He concluded his work career in the IT field as a Senior Systems Engineer and Data Center Architect. When he was not working he enjoyed playing golf, bowling, painting military miniatures, playing the guitar and gaming.  He had a passion for sports cars, motorcycles and music.  Among his astonishing work history and extracurricular activities, he also fathered 9 outstanding children and mentored 2 stepchildren.  However, his greatest accomplishment in recent years was being an outstanding husband to his beautiful bride.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward and Marilyn Elias Grammar; his sisters, Sandy Calhoun and Peggy Grammar; and his grandson, Tristan McCollum.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Kirk Grammar; his children, Nathan Grammar of Redding, CA, Miriam (Anthony) Phillips of Richland, MS, Matthew (Jamie) Grammar of Gluckstadt, MS, Seth (Sonia) Grammar of Brandon, MS, Benjamin Grammar of Brandon, MS, Stephanie Grammar of Oxford, MS, Sarah Grammar of Seattle, WA, Emily (Matthew) Malone of Robertsdale, AL, and Olivia Grammar of Biloxi, MS; his stepdaughters, Sascha (Nicholas West) Cajandig of Chicago, IL and Sophia Cajandig of Cottage Grove, MN; his grandchildren, Skylar, Dakota, Joshua, Hayden, Blake, Natalie, Maddox, Maria, Ava, Ansley, Dore', and Yoshin; his siblings, Linda Federowski, Cindy Miller, and Eddie Grammar; and his parents-in-law, Garrett and Paula Kirk.
