Charles Galvin, Sr

Charles William Galvin, Sr., resident of Covington, LA, passed away Saturday September 24, 2022, at the age of 74.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 34 years, Elaine Galvin; parents, Michael and Charlie Woods Galvin; brothers, John and Patrick Galvin.

Charles is survived by his children, Lisa Heindel (Robert), Donna LeBlanc (Michael), Kristen Marchese (Gary) and Charles “Bill” Galvin, Jr.; siblings, Delia Ruch (Carl), Michael Galvin (Barbara), Timothy Galvin (Joan), Mary Galvin, Peggy Fouquier (Michael), Kevin Galvin and Virginia Boyle (Terry); grandchildren, Leslie Heindel (Paul), Matthew Heindel, Robert M. Heindel, John Marcey, Jr., Catherine Pretus (Brian), Chelsey LeBlanc (Jordan), Sydney Huff (Scott), Taylor Carroll (Micah), Payton Carroll, Baylie Carroll and John Gaybriel Galvin; great grandchildren, Rori Johnson, Grayson Page, Oliver St. Blanc, Gavin Huff, Leo Pretus and Charlie Rose St. Blanc.  Also, a host of nieces and nephews.

Charles was a native of Atlanta, GA, a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Hector 1966-1969 and served as a New Orleans Police Officer from 1970-1990. He was an avid blackjack player who also enjoyed traveling with his wife, bowling, caring for his much-loved dogs and spending time with his family. He loved his family and country above all else.

A Memorial Service will be held at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 141 Highway 90, Waveland, MS 39576, Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with Military Honors at 1:30pm.
