Charles McWilliams (Mackie) Fayard, age 77 and a resident of Gulfport, died on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 in Gulfport.
Mr. Fayard was a 1948 graduate of St. John's High School and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He retired from Fayard Moving & Transportation Corp.
Mr. Fayard is preceded in death by his parents, Frances & W.H. Fayard, Sr.; his brothers, A.C. Fayard, Ed Fayard and W.H. Fayard, Jr., and his sister, Dorothy Fayard Smith.
Mr. Fayard is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Carolyn Miller Fayard of Gulfport; his brother, Johnnie R. Fayard of Gulfport; his sisters, Bernadette Hansen of Gulfport and Leta Hugg of Gretna, LA and numerous nephews and nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 12, 2006 at 11:00am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. John Catholic Church, P.O. Box 970, Gulfport, MS 39502. Gulf Coast Funeral Homes, Inc., Three Rivers Road Chapel in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements. An online guestbook may be signed at www.gulfcoastfh.com.
