Rev. Charles E. Clark, age 76 and a resident of Kiln, MS, met his heavenly father on Thursday, March 12, 2015 in Bay St. Louis.
Rev. Clark was born on March 3, 1939, in Graceville, Florida. He served our country in the United States Air Force as Assistant Chaplain in 28 countries. During his tenure in France, he founded Franco-American Church and pastored until he returned to Keesler Air Force Base. After being honorably discharged in 1967, he founded Glad Tidings Temple in Ocean Springs and pastored there until the Lord moved him to serve as an evangelist and a missionary to Mexico.
He was an ordained minister by the General Council of the Assemblies of God. In 1976 Rev. Clark moved his family to the Bay-Waveland area when God called him to pastor First Assembly of God until his stroke in 1985.
He and his wife served as pastors for Magnolia Personal Care Home for over 20 years. After the closing of the home they have continued to minister and serve in church and the community. Rev. Clark was the chaplain for the Kiln Volunteer Fire Department for 11 years. He loved serving the community in this capacity.
Rev. Clark never met a stranger. His love of family, his friends, his country, and his love of God is his greatest legacy.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Spurgeon and Eva Clark, his sisters Peggy Clark and Kathryn Rudd; his grandsons Christopher Lloyd Clark and Matthew Clark Weatherly.
He is survived by his wife of almost 54 years, Sylvia; his children Charlene (Rick) Stephens of Pass Christian, Chuck (Nancy) Clark and Eddie (Carol) Clark of Diamondhead, Lynette (Todd) Frazier and Lori (Ronnie) Weatherly of Kiln; his grandchildren Jonathan Stephens, Nicolas Stephens, Charles Clark, Phillip Clark, Austin Clark, , Chantel (Bruce) Standfuss, Ceige Clark, Cegan Clark, Chelsie Clark, Carlee Clark, Brett Morreale, Nathan Weatherly, Will Weatherly, Clay Ladner, Ray Ladner, Kelsey Ratcliff, Justin Ratcliff; great grandsons Brayden Standfuss and Hayden Hollowell; and sisters, Betty Anne (Raymond) Lee, Libba (Phillip) Clearman, Ella Mae Harris and Becca (Bill) Wells.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 14, from 5:00 - 7:00pm at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Kiln-Delisle , Pass Christian. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2015 beginning at 2:00pm at Faith Assembly of God Church, 18701 Highway 43 in Kiln with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery at Rotten Bayou in Diamondhead.
To continue his love of missions, donations may be made to Faith Assembly of God, P.O. Box 598, Kiln, MS 39556. Memorials will be used to dig wells through the Africa Oasis Project through our Vacation Bible School.
