Celine Marie Robicheaux Nederveld, 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, August 21, 2021 in Diamondhead, MS.

Celine was born April 2, 1926 in New Orleans, LA. After her mother’s death, she was raised by her grandparents, Louis Manuel Cressy Sr. and Jeanne Josephine Delpit Cressy.  It was in New Orleans where she met the love of her life, Leonard, and married him in 1945. While living in New Orleans she worked for Acme Marble & Granite and the state government.  In the latter part of the 1950’s, they moved to Metairie where Celine was active with the local Girl Scouts and served as Scout Leader for Troop 944, as well as being active in St. Christopher Elementary School. After moving to Slidell in 1974, she worked for NOAA @ Stennis Space Center.

She and Leonard moved to Diamondhead, MS, where they built their home in 1990 and became members of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.  While in Diamondhead, Celine was very active in the church and the women’s Auxiliary of the local VFW.  She loved to travel, square dance, host parties, spend time with her family, play bridge, having her morning cup of coffee, and of course chocolate.

Celine was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; her son, Arnold; her son-in-law, Bob Baker, and her parents.

She is survived by her son, Leonard Nederveld Jr. and his wife, Jody of Lafayette, LA; her daughter, Marybeth Baker of Diamondhead, MS; her brother, Guy A. Robicheaux, Jr. of Slidell, LA; 6 granddaughters, Darcy Logan, Allison Nederveld, Rachel Nederveld, Saiva Baker, Mara Baker and Aija Baker; and 2 great-grandchildren, Gregory Logan, Jr. (Jesse) and Sarah Logan (Sassy).

A private family service will be held on Wednesday, August 25, and she will be interned alongside her husband at Biloxi National Cemetery. Masks will be required.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Celine can be made to your local food pantry, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and/or Most Holy Trinity New Church Building Fund.
