Celeste Victoria Jourdes Benfield, age 90, a native of New Orleans, LA, and a longtime resident of Picayune and Gulfport, passed away on September 10, 2012. She retired as a Unit Secretary from Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jean Marie Pierre Jourdes and Edna Ann Jourdes.
She is survived by her five children, Pete Benfield (Paula), Bill Benfield (Kelly), Charles Thomas Benfield, Mike Benfield, and Kathleen Smith (Rick); nine grandchildren, Paula Daspit (Jon), Susan Kelly (Mark), William Mike Benfield (Alicia), Matthew Benfield, Luke Benfield, Jennifer Necaise (Bill), Charles Benfield (Deana), Shannon Bishop (Daniel), Derek Smith; twelve great grandchildren, Brandon, Seth, Hayden, Alissa, Sebastien, Ariel, Zack, Colton, Cameron, Chandler, Johnathan, Nathan; and sisters-in-law, Dawn and Gloria; cousins, Elizabeth and Danny; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, at 11:00 a.m. Friends may visit one hour prior to services.
Burial will follow at Saucier Cemetery.
