Cecil Milton Castanedo, age 68, and a resident of Gulfport, was born August 12, 1941 in Jackson, died January 30, 2010 in Gulfport.
He is preceded in death by his parents Wesley J. Castanedo and Mamie Lou """"Shug"""" Castanedo, two brothers WJ Castanedo, Jr. and Charles Castanedo.
He leaves behind a wife, Carolyn J. Castanedo, his son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Stephanie Castanedo; a daugther and son-in-law, Julie and Dean Vance, three grandchildren, Emma Rae Castanedo, Noah Dean Vance, and Anna Grace Castanedo all of Gulfport.
He served in the United States Marie Corp., and retired from Mississippi Power Company as a Distribution Line Foreman after 32 years of service. He touched many lives with his love for baseball, softball, racing, and Disney World. He showed his love for family and friends by being active in the Orange Grove Jaycee Baseball, Football, and Basketball programs.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff on 3B at Memorial Hospital and Father Louis Lohan for their wonderful care.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2010 from 6 to 9 p.m. for friends at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 10 am in the funeral home chapel.
Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church: Building Fund, P.O. Box 1529, Long Beach, MS 39560.
